(Dist. of Criminals), March 6, 2025 — President Donald Trump vowed to bring home two American astronauts stranded aboard the International Space Station (ISS), announcing that SpaceX, under Elon Musk, is preparing a rescue mission to return them to Earth after what was supposed to be an eight-day mission stretched to nearly nine months.
Trump, speaking from the Oval Office, placed blame squarely on the Biden administration for the prolonged delay, saying, “Biden left them up there. We have two astronauts that are stuck in space. I have asked Elon, I said, ‘Do me a favor. Can you get them out?’ He said, ‘Yes.’ He is preparing to go up, I think in two weeks.”
The two astronauts, Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, became stranded in June 2024 after Boeing’s Starliner capsule, which was meant to return them, was deemed unsafe. Trump directly addressed Wilmore and Williams, reassuring them that their return is imminent. “We love you, and we’re coming up to get you, and you shouldn’t have been up there so long.” He added, “The most incompetent president in our history has allowed that to happen to you, but this president won’t let it happen.”
NASA had previously stated that the astronauts would remain on the ISS until a replacement crew arrived, with a tentative return scheduled for late March.
