CHICAGO, October 8, 2025 — President Trump is doubling down on his promise to restore law and order nationwide — calling for the jailing of Chicago’s Democrat Mayor Brandon Johnson and Illinois Governor JB Pritzker as his administration prepares to deploy National Guard troops to the streets of Chicago.
“Chicago Mayor should be in jail for failing to protect ICE officers! Governor Pritzker also!” Trump wrote on his social platform.
The President’s comments come just hours before hundreds of Texas National Guard troops arrived at a U.S. Army facility outside Chicago, over the objections of state and local Democratic officials.
